A month after they were transplanted, the runner beans are starting up the poles and the French beans are popping up.

Germination on the French beans was poor - I put this down to the weather.

I've laid a chipping path to the side and this forms a divide between my plot and the adjoining. In view of the mares tail, not a bad idea to have a buffer zone.

You can see the brassicas are doing well and the broad beans are up high. Between them you can see parsnips popping up.

In the foreground are the courgettes and, yes, it needs weeding
